Briefs

Level 6 briefs that inspired this year’s
graduates and led to the work seen
throughout the degree show.

Waves of Knowing

An introduction to affirmative and disruptive design methods, Waves of Knowing is a design challenge based around the context of the sea. We were asked to deliver an affirmative solution and a disruptive deliverable in response to the global marine plastic pollution crisis in the form of 8 information design boards.

Competitions

We were invited to select briefs from a range of international design competitions and opportunities led by personal ambitions. The competition project allows students to explore a range of diverse subject matter within a plethora of contexts.

Final Major Ambition

The FMA project is a student-set and student-led brief. Meaning that we could write our brief or base it on an existing brief, such as one from a client. The only requirement is that the brief is sufficiently challenging and ambitious. The most important aspect is to choose a topic that engages and motivates you.

Dyson Creative Challenge

The Dyson Creative Challenge is a means of supporting students’ readiness in developing a unique professional career in graphic design. We were allowed to design and pitch a brand identity and narrative for a live client (ACT Medical) for their upcoming product – the Balloon Occlusive Barrier. A device for preventing severe blood loss due to penetrative trauma wounds.
